An evening walk to Old Portlethen beach on the 22nd July to capture some images
The tide was going out and this is taken from the pebble beach. I took a number of shots at different exposure but thought this showed more detail of the foreground but by doing this the sky has lost its colour.
The setting were :-
focal length - 18mm
exposure - 1/125
aperture - f3.5
iso - 200

A collection of small fishing boats berthed on the pebble beach

The settings were :-

focal length - 36mm

exposure - 1/125

aperture - f8

iso - 400

A different angle of the small fishing boats

The setting were :-

focal length - 32mm

exposure - 1/250

aperture - f4

iso - 400

  1. Combining images with varying exposures on the computer is really the only way to to captures an image of such extremes. If its a case of one or the other I too would go with overexposing the sky too
